Nina M. Johannes, was born November 28, 1916 in Colorado to Albert and Bertha (Morgan) Billings. She attended school at Miller Ridge School in Monroe County.
Nina married Lorentus C. Johannes on May 30, 1936 in Centerville, Iowa. She enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, doing crosswords and word searches, and quilting.
Nina passed away on June 17, 2008 at Hospice of Jasper County’s Monarch Wing in Newton. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lorentus; daughter, Linda L. Hearl; two sons, Larry D. and Irvin L. Johannes; and 2 children, Marlene and Delbert Johannes, in infancy.
Nina is survived by her grandson, Brian (Emily) Hearl of Newton, and her niece, La Donna (Zeke) Breese of Prescott, AZ.
