Nils R. Barto, 82, of Peru, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at home.
Mr. Barto was born January 13, 1934 in Spring Valley to Mike and Leona (Seaback) Barto. He married Donna J. Bradley on June 26, 1959 in Naches, WA.
Mr. Barto was a graduate of Hall Township High School and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at LTD in Hennepin, Ryder Trucking Company in LaSalle and as a mechanic in LaSalle. He enjoyed working on cars and swimming, especially in the indoor pool at his home. Camping and travelling through Illinois and across the country with his wife was a great joy.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna on June 8, 2012; his son, Nils Buck Barto Jr.; his sister, Ruth Reed and his brother, Vernon Barto.Memorial contributions may be directed to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
