McQUEEN, Nila Jo passed away early Saturday morning, May 3, 2014, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. She was born on July 16, 1935, in Elwood, Indiana. On July 3, 1956, Jo was united in marriage to William Dale McQueen, who preceded her in death on September 24, 2009.
Also preceding her death were her parents, Book and Margaret Hobbs Phillips, and son, Anthony McQueen.
Surviving are her three grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, and Elizabeth McQueen; great-grandson, Anthony Michael McQueen; daughter-in-law, Mary McQueen; her many caregivers, Kathy Lower, Connie Caporossi, Cathy Caporossi, Marge McQueen, Melissa Polderman and Sasha Hoyle; longtime friends, Jim and Sophia Gano; and her little dog and companion, Dewey.
