Nicole Sloan, 42, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Nicole was born in Des Moines on December 14, 1978 to Debra A. Murray and Michael Lee Sloan. She grew up in La Crosse, WI and returned to Des Moines after graduating from high school in 1996. She then completed cosmetology school at La James International College and will be remembered by many of her clients from Great Clips. Most recently Nicole worked as a Quality Assurance Analyst for Wells Fargo Bank.
Nicole was a proud member of Sober Soldierz. She enjoyed taking photos of family, friends and herself. She always had a song for everyone and everything. Nicole was quick witted, trendy and clever, with a heart of gold.
Nicole was devoted to her children, mother and extended family. Her love for her grandparents, Maxine and Michael, shaped her life. Nicole honored them by naming her son, Maxx Michael.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three children, Alexis Sloan, Madison Sloan and Maxx Richard; mother, Debra A. Murray; brother, Michael Patrick Sloan, brother, Tyler Formaro; nephew, Jayden Sloan, niece, Sabrina Formaro; auntie, Joan Murray; uncles, Timothy (Tina), Mark (Jean) and Steve Murray; and so many extended family members and friends who loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Sloan; uncle, Brian Murray; and grandparents, Michael and Maxine Murray.
