Nicolas Davila, 81, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2020 while in the care of Old Orchard Nursing Home. He was the loving husband of Maria (Morales) Davila with whom he shared over 52 years of loving marriage. Born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico, raised in Brooklyn, NY then moved to Bethlehem, PA 45 years ago. He was the son of the late Monico Davila and Lucia Davila Felix. Nicolas immediately became comfortable with Bethlehem, PA, knowing it would be a great place to raise his family. Nicolas first worked as a tractor trailer driver, then moved onto construction in the Bethlehem area. Nicolas enjoyed the sense of community and heritage in Bethlehem. Nicolas was a lifetime member of the Puerto Rican Beneficial Society located in South Bethlehem. In addition, Nicolas was part of the local softball team that played at Saucon Park and various bar pool leagues. However, Nicolas’ true passion was music. He was part of various bands playing various percussion instruments. Nicolas was part of the Puerto Rican day Parade in South Bethlehem, where he and other band members happily played music for the community. Nicolas was also part of a band that played latin music at the Sands Casino during it’s first year of opening. Nicolas was recognized for his efforts in the Morning Call of 2007. Nicolas has been involved in so many things throughout the community and has been privileged to be able to participate, help, support, give back to all of his friends and neighbors.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Maria; Children: Maria Davila, Anthony Davila, Jacqueline Davila and Carolyn Davila; Siblings: Felicity Davila and Aida Davila; Grandhildren: Nicholas Davila, Natasha Ramirez, Desiree Davila, Anthony Davila Jr., Christian Davila, Gabriel Davila, Kareem Tunstall, Jacquette Charles, D’Avian Erskine, Jayla McKethan and Mia Davila; great grandchildren Leilani Davila and Quamir Jacine Murphy.
