Nicholas Ryan Engledow, a beloved husband, father, uncle, son, and friend, was welcomed into Heaven by his Redeemer on February 2, 2020. Nick, as he was known by everyone, fought a vigorous and valiant two-and-a-half year battle against testicular cancer.
Nick came into this world on November 1st, 1977, born to parents Patti and Larry.
As a child, Nick was known to be funny, mischievous, and considerate. When Nick’s brother Chris was a toddler, Nick loved to knock Chris down as he learned how to walk. Nick’s mischievous actions quickly turned caring, and established a basis of compassion and responsibility that continued throughout his life.
Good-humored mischief continued into Nick’s teenage years, but being the responsible young man he was, he owned his actions. He was very intelligent, earning good grades as he challenged himself through high school. Nick was a talented trombone player and made several lifelong friends during his time in Bartlett’s high school band. Anyone Nick met instantly embraced his calm and genuine demeanor.
Leaping to adulthood, Nick eventually departed from his mischievous ways. He was known to have excellent work-ethic. He embraced the teachings of Jesus Christ. He met his beautiful wife, Meagan, in 2000 and they were wed in 2004. Since meeting Meagan, they have brought into this world four intelligent and talented GLAM girls – Gracie, Lilli, Amelia, and Maggie. Nick is the best husband and father, and will be terribly missed by his wife and daughters.
A great many others will also miss Nick’s smile, caring attitude, and genuine character in addition to his wife Meagan and their girls Gracie, Lilli, Amelia, and Maggie. These people include Patti (mother) and Jerry Smith; Larry (father) and Terry Engledow; grandmothers Grace Hauck and Joanne Engledow; Jessica Spencer and her children Ryan, Connor, Jimmy, Cameron, and Lexi; Chris and Devin Engledow; Kirk, Courtney, and Drew Wise; Marshall Hudson; Will Wilde; Brianna and Jose Montanez; Jessica and Kayla Warren; Jacqi and Jason Kotlewski; Beverly and Brett Langston; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Also welcoming Nick into Heaven are grandfathers John Hauck and Bill Engledow.
