After the Army, Nick remained in Stamford and was employed by Electric Specialty and Vic’s Liquors. He subsequently became owner of Piccadilly Liquor Shop, and was a constant presence in Ridgeway Shopping Center for nearly two decades. Moving to the Danbury, CT area in 1977, Nick purchased Fairwood Wines and Liquors in New Fairfield, CT. It was a lovely, familiar sight to see Nick behind the counter with Angie by his side, greeting customers, and their nephew, Raymond Mariano, lending a hand wherever he was needed. Nick was a connoisseur of wine and spirits, and many a family member, friend and customer benefited from his expertise. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were an inspiration to all who knew him. After Nick’s retirement at age 79, he and Angie moved from their home in Danbury, CT and lived with their son, Michael and his family in Madison, CT for 10 years. Since 2019, the family has settled in Coral Gables, Florida.

Growing up, Nick played basketball for the Stamford Boys Club.

Nick is survived by his beautiful wife of 67 years, Angie; their sons, Charles (Marianne nee Belsole) and Michael (Anne Marie nee Vanasse); five grandchildren, Christina, John, Adrianna, Nicholas, Lauren; two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Charley Grace; nieces, Christalene and Marian Skoumbros and nephew, Michael Skoumbros; first cousin, George Michalopoulos MD, PhD, and many other nieces and nephews by marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents, Costas and Marie Psichopaidas; sister, Polly and her husband, John Skoumbros; and many relatives of Stamford, Pardali, and Athens, Greece.
