Nicholas A. Orzio passed on February 5, 2016 at the Hospice House in Rockledge, Florida.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Anne (Sisto) Orzio; his son, Marty Orzio and his wife, Felicia; his daughter, Carole Schryber and her husband John; his daughter, Lisa Camia and her husband, Eugene; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Patricia, Kristina, Benjamin, Erica and Jack; his great-grandson, Luca; and many close friends.

Nicholas Orzio was born and raised in White Plains, New York. He took up photography at the age of 11, and learned to develop his pictures in the family’s bathroom after they were all asleep.  He graduated from White Plains High School and joined the U.S. Army in 1949. Although trained to be a sniper, his gift in photography was soon acknowledged and he became one of General MacArthur’s photographers in Occupied Japan. There he photographed the War Trials, as well as many foreign dignitaries including General MacArthur himself, Helen Keller, and the President of Korea. His pictures of the rebuilding of Japan have been displayed throughout the world including at the International Photography Hall of Fame, the MacArthur Memorial, the Nippon Club in NYC, and most recently at a Veteran’s event in Boca Raton.

Over the years, he has been a radio announcer, a life insurance agent and building contractor. He has many talents in addition to photography (a hobby he always continued), including cabinetry and furniture building. He has been a resident of Viera for 20 years.
