Nicholas Maddalena, 94, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Born in Newark, NJ, he lived in Irvington and Colonia, NJ before moving to Toms River 27 years ago. Nicholas proudly served his country as a Machinist Mate Second Class in the United States Coast Guard and was an avid horseman and thoroughbred owner. He was a Tool and Die Maker and Owned and Operated National Plastic Technicians in Elizabeth, NJ. He worked at Federal Plastics in Cranford, NJ before retiring in 1996.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dolores, his parents Nicholas and Theresa (Tomaro), and his siblings; Louis, John, and Mildred. He is survived by his children Michaeleann and her husband John Warchol of Bayville, NJ, and Dolores Vannella of Hillsborough, NJ, three grandchildren; Joseph Vannella and his wife Dana, Michele Herman and her husband Michael, and Christina Warchol and her fiancé Vincent Palmieri, and three great grandchildren; Nicholas Vannella, Anthony Vannella, and Vincent Vannella, as well as several nieces and nephews.
