Dr. Nicholas J. Milazzo, 82, of Orange died Friday surrounded by his loving wife of 52 years, Geraldine Holmes Milazzo, and his family. Dr. Milazzo was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 1, 1926, son of the late John and Nicoletta Boscia Milazzo. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School, and graduated cum laude from Columbia University and State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine. He practiced internal medicine in Derby and Ansonia for 42 years before his retirement in 1999. He also served in the Army Air Forces in World War II. Besides his wife, he is survived by seven daughters: Joanne D’Angelo (Robert) of Woodbridge; Carolyn Murphy (Stephen) of Guilford; Diane Marriner (Blake) of West Haven; Nancy Musante (Matthew) of Orange; Patricia Goldfeder (Richard) of Madison; Janet Forbes (Dewey) of Orange, and Marianne Lippard (John) of Milford. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren: Robert, John and Laura D’Angelo; Matthew and Maura Murphy; Eric and Gregory Marriner; Nicholas, Michael and Melissa Musante; Andrew and Nichole Goldfeder; Katherine, Julia and Brian Forbes, and Haley and John Lippard. He was predeceased by his brother John Milazzo, and stepmother Rose DeLassio Milazzo. He was a caring physician and loving father whose greatest source of pride was his family. He was also an avid golfer and longtime member of Racebrook Country Club in Orange. He also was a member of the Naugatuck Valley Medical Society, serving as scholarship committee chairman for several years.
