Nicholas Anthony D’Orsi, age 85, of Orange passed away peacefully on January 9, 2015 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Irene Karajanis D’Orsi. Nick, the son of the late Nicholas S. D’Orsi and the late Frances Parise D’Orsi, was born in New Haven on June 26, 1929, and was a resident of Orange for 58 years. Above all else, he dedicated his life to his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was the beloved father of his daughter, Robin M. Jex, and her husband, Steve, of Bowling Green, OH; his son, Nicholas C. D’Orsi, and his wife, Theresa, of Hanover, NH; and his son, Paul B. D’Orsi and his wife, Pauline, of Milford. He was so proud of his cherished grandchildren, Garrett and Travis Jex, Katherine and Nicholas D’Orsi, and Nikki and Justin Catinazzo, who fondly remember him as Papou. In addition, his survivors are brother Vincent D’Orsi and sister-in-law Marlene of Gulfport, FL; sister Anna Marie Cassella and brother-in-law Dominic of West Haven; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Elene D’Orsi, of Glastonbury, and brother Lawrence D’Orsi and sister-in-law Josephine of West Hartford.
Nick attended Kimberly, Truman, and Hillhouse High School in New Haven, CT, graduating in 1947. Upon graduation he joined the United States Army.
