On Thursday, May 26, 2022, William Newell Cooper, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home in Clovis, New Mexico at the age of 73.
Newell was born in Mesa, Arizona on the 9th of December, 1948 to James and Mildred Cooper. He was a wonderful son and brother. He loved his siblings Gary Cooper, Gail Bramwell, Morris Cooper, Connie Curtis and Jan Petersen. Newell grew up helping on his father’s dairy farm. This sparked a passion for dairy work and he lived a wonderful life owning and operating the Newell Cooper Milkyway and Legacy Dairies. He served on several dairy councils and truly loved being involved in the dairy community.
While attending Mesa High School, this cute football player and wrestler fell in love with his sweetheart, Cathy Jo Forshee. They were married May 28, 1970. Newell was dearly loved by his wife, nine children, their spouses and his 28 grandchildren. As a family, Casey Norr (Rob), Jesse (Anne), Candace Gilchrist (Corey), Jered (Amanda), Justin (Clairissa), Rebecca (Emilie), Tiffany Kendall (Steven), Dallas (Kailynn) and Ashley Hill (Sean) loved being together. They enjoyed skiing on the lake, vacations to California and the beach, attending all kinds of sporting events, game nights and traveling together.
Being a kind and dependable, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather was of the utmost importance to Newell. He wholeheartedly loved the Lord, his family and his dairy.
