Neville Wilson “Smithy” Smith passed on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at the age of 86. He was a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida at the time of his passing.
He was born in Morugua, Trinidad, and Tobago to Leonis Smith and Agnes “Millie” Wilson who he affectionately called “Ma Gorry.” “Smithy” was a master diesel marine mechanic and machinist who owned and operated Quartermaster Diesel and NS Diesel Power in St. Thomas, USVI for many years. Prior to retiring in 2019 he owned and operated Smittys-Diesel in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
He will be lovingly remembered as the sibling of Ivan Ceasar, Margret Banton, Bryan Victor, and Emanuel Carl Victor.
The father of Olinda “Marilyn” Smith, Domnick “Iring” Smith, Ceceila “Marva” F. Lewis, Neville “Donnie” Smith, Theodore “Jo Jo” Smith, plus many “adopted:” Katherine C. Johnson, Anthony Winn, Doreen Alexis and more. Grandfather of Olinda Ricard-Hodge, Amy Smith, Dominica Smith, Nickala Robinson, Kalyff Smith, Lee Lewis, and “adopted” grandchildren Alana Romena and Gabriella Elise Johnson.
