Nettie Nova McNutt, 98, of Pendleton, passed away on December 3, 2012 at the Rawlins House Pendleton.
She was born on March 23, 1914 in Boone County, and resided most of her life in Pendleton. Nova graduated from Advance High School. She was a homemaker and had worked for Axel’s Dry Cleaning in Pendleton. She was an 80 year member of East Lynn Christian Church where she was very active in the CWF, a trustee, youth leader and the Nursery. She was also a member of DAR, Extension Homemaker for 60 years and Contact Help. She grew strawberries and raspberries for many years and had many faithful customers.
She was very fond of children and farming; at one time having twin John Deere tractors so she and her husband could farm together. Nova is survived by her children: Darrel Mary Ann McNutt, Gwen Jim DeShong and Steven McNutt, 11 grandchildren: Daniel Roxanne McNutt, Cathy Kevin Wrigley, Curtis Cindy McNutt, Susan Jaye Jeffries, David Cinda DeShong, Morris Marcy DeShong, Matthew Becki DeShong, Amy Tracy Brauchla, Molly Ray Redman, Jennifer David Leon, Colin McNutt, 25 great grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Donna Gene Stanley and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin McNutt, parents, Roy and Clellie Jones McCabe, brother, G.J. McCabe, and nephews.
