Our beautiful grandmother Nettie Mae Schein was born on July 7, 1924, in Ogden, Utah to Earl Kenneth and Lila Coy White. She passed away August 31, 2021, at the age of 97 in Bountiful, Utah.

As a young girl, Nettie loved spending time in Plain City, Utah on her grandpa Coy’s farm riding horses, feeding the pigs, and spending time with her siblings and cousins. Growing up in the Great Depression, Nettie learned to “Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.”

Nettie married James Roland Burk on April 13, 1941. They had 4 children, Roland, Robert, Linda, and Lawrence.

Nettie married Marvin Schein on December 12, 1969. They enjoyed many happy years in Pocatello, Idaho, and St. George and Farr West, Utah.

Nettie worked as a store clerk, secretary, bank teller, and as an Avon lady. She enjoyed reading a good book, traveling by car, and listening to classical music. Nettie loved water aerobics and even taught classes into her 90’s.

Preceded in death by her parents Earl White and Lila Walker, siblings Roberta, Kenneth, Mary, and Joann, children Roland Burk, Bob Burk, Linda Peterson, and Larry Burk, husband Marvin Schein, loving companion Roy “Mack” Helm, grandchildren Amy Francis and Heather Elwood, and great-grandchildren Tyler Murdock and Lyndsey Hoffman.

Survived by her brother Gordon White, son-in-law Glen Peterson, grandchildren Heide Clark, Todd Burk, Gina Covert, Lisa Johnson, James Burk, Matthew Burk, Lisa Murdock, Laura Hoffman, and Jennilyn Loury, along with numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. We would like to thank Utah Home Health and Hospice for the many years of care. In particular, the loving care of her aides Amber and Ava has been greatly appreciated.
