Mrs. Claiborne lived in Jal, NM for many years before moving to Hobbs in 1955. She had been employed with Dunlaps Department Store for many years and was a member of the Black and Gold Grandmother’s Club. She was also an active member of the4 Jefferson Street Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a son, Marshall G. Claiborne and wife Clatdean of Jal, NM.; a daughter, Gay Don Claiborne of Greenville, S.C. four granddaughters, Marsha Wallace and husband Jim of Greenville, S.C. Monica Wheeler of Greenville,S.C. Mandy Amanda Dunn and husband Mike of Rome, GA. and Deana Thomas and husband mike of Burnet, TX. one grandson: Mitchell Elkins and wife Denise of Perth, Australia; 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Nettie was preceeded in death by her husband, Marshall L. Claiborne, parents: Robert E. and Louella Leese. two Sisters, Jean Durrett and Inez Bozley; two brothers: Winfred Leese and Donnie Leese.
