Muncie-Neta Grace (Smith) “Staton” Clonan, 92, went to be with her Lord, early Sunday morning, June 8, 2014, at her residence following a brief illness.  She was born in Jamestown, Tennessee on, March 7, 1922, the daughter of Alfred and Freelie Pearl (Beaty) Smith.

Grace attended Jamestown City Schools and married William Staton who preceded her in death in 1967 and then married Robert Clonan who preceded her in death in 1992.  Mrs. Clonan had worked both in retail and then for some factories, first serving the John Stillman’s Department Store and then Works Novelty and Ball Brothers Manufacturing.  She retired in 1984.  

Grace was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God in Florida and attended the Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Muncie.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Chandler (husband-Jerry), Muncie and Donna Morrison (husband-Wayne), Muncie; one son,  Ernest Staton (wife-Trissia), Marlow, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Sharon Staton, Ft. Wayne and Helen Staton, Muncie; one sister Allene Conner (husband-Charles, Ashville, North Carolina; one brother, Gene Smith (wife-Glenda), Portsmouth, Alabama; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her two husbands, William Staton and Robert Clonan, she is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Wanda Hatfield; two sons, William Staton and James Staton;  two sisters, Ruby Muncey and Ruth Neeley; one brother, Warren Smith.
