Nerine Smith Barnette, 61, passed away on April 18, 2021 in Newnan, GA. Nerine was born on June 30, 1959 in Lagrange, GA to the late William Clarence Smith and Joyce Cleveland Smith. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Skipper Smith. Nerine was a graduate of Georgia Southern University and was a member of the Zeta Sorority. After attending college, she became a highly successful salesperson in the transportation industry. She loved her family, friends, and her dog, Nuggett. She is survived by her husband of many years, James Barnette; her son, Philip Barnette; sisters, Dodie Smith Hamrick, and Debra Smith James; and brother-in-law, William “Billy” James. She will be greatly missed by her nephews, Clay, Chase, and James and wife Lauren, and grandniece, Halle.
