Torres, Nemecio R. of Saginaw, Michigan
Went home to be with the Lord, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at St. Mary’s of Saginaw. He was 81 years old. Nemecio R. Torres was born on October 31, 1935 in San Luis, Potosi, Mexico to the late Marcos and Victoriana (Ramirez) Torres. He married the love of his life and soul mate, Aurora Cerda on June 6, 1954 in Texas; she preceded him in death on July 3, 2008. Nemecio was the hardest working man alive and believed firmly in providing for his wife and children. He worked for and retired from General Motors for over 23 years. Nemecio loved and devoted his life to the Lord. He loved farming and gardening on two out of his three acres. Nemecio was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He will forever be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his quick wit and joke telling abilities. Above all, Nemecio loved and cherished his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are 11 children: Carmen (Mitch) Levario of Saginaw, Maria (Terry) Weaver of Omaha, NE, Rosie (Randy) Banfill of Grand Rapids, Marcos Torres of Houston, TX, Aurora (Jesus) Soto of Blair, NE, Nemecio (Sandra) Torres, Jr., of Grand Rapids, Victoria (Angel) Gonzalez of Tampa, FL, Patricia Torres of Los Angeles, CA, Graciela (Andy) Gerken of Blair, NE, Felipe (Anna) Torres of Saginaw and Samuel (Kim) Torres of Canton; an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four brothers: Ascension, Ramon, Rafael, and Mario; and a sister, Lina.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Aurora; a sister, Ingracia Davila; and Aa brother, Herman Ramirez.
