Nema Smith, 94, of Anderson, passed away on January 16, 2020 at Northview Health and Living.
She was born on April 2, 1925 in Indianapolis, Indiana and resided most of her life in the Elwood and Anderson area. Nema attended Elwood High School and retired from Excello after 15+ years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Elwood. Nema loved to play cards, especially Euchre and Bunko.
Nema is survived by her children, Lowell Smith, Ronald Smith, Harold (Darlene) Smith, and Howard Smith; grandchildren, Annette (Brooke) Fields, Jeff (Valeri) Mullins, Heather Smith, Jennifer Smith, Brian Smith, Greg Smith, Brad Smith, Michelle Smith, Melanie (D.J.) Sanders, Marlena (Matt) Washington; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and her sister-in-law, Joann Sharp.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Mullins; son, Donald Smith; her parents, William and Bertha Sharp; and nine siblings, Nora Lee, Lucretia Combs, Ruth Fesmire, Mary Pugsley, Edna Wampol, Josephine Perry, Robert Sharp, Lawrence Sharp and Jim Sharp.
