Nelson William McDaniel, age 80, of Salisbury passed away on August 5, 2021, at Glen A. Kiser Hospice House.
Born in Rowan County on February 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Mary Cordelia Ritchie McDaniel and the late Clarence Albert McDaniel.
Nelson worked at SIE as a forklift electrician. He enjoyed hunting and fishing was his passion. Nelson was an avid fisherman and competed in many tournaments with his fishing buddy Gray Brookshire that they won many together.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Melba McDaniel and brother Clarence Eugene McDaniels.
He is survived by his sons Randy McDaniel (Ladonna), Buddy McDaniel (Kim), daughters Kelly McDaniel Tharp (William) Patricia McDaniel and 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
