Born in Rockwood, Nelson was the son of Eric and Mabel (Shanaver) Gomoll. A 1953 graduate of Trenton High School, he married the love of his life, Constance Starkweather, on December 31, 1955. Nelson retried from Ford Motor Company after 33 years on the job. He was a member of the Rockwood Moose. Nelson also enjoyed hunting fishing and gardening.Nelson leaves to cherish his memory, Constance, his wife of the past 65 years; children: David (Denise) Gomoll, Dean Gomoll and Melody (Scott) Fanslau; six grandchildren: Michelle (Jason) Rourk, Nelson (Jennifer) Gomoll, Matthew Gomoll, Eryn Benson, Megan Smith and Eric Fanslau; as well as six great grandchildren: Cadence Rourk, Benjamin Rourk, Wyatt Rourk, Corinne Smith, Reagan Smith and Everett Gomoll; and a sister Joan Bettinger. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Niles Gomoll, Ralph Gomoll, Peggy Gherhardi and Kathryn Gahagen.
