Nelson F. Marek, formerly of Victoria, TX, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Country Meadows in Bethlehem Township, PA.
Born in Port Lavaca, TX, Nelson was the son of the late Fred and Viola (Meyer) Marek. He graduated from the University of Texas, and went on to work as an engineer for Brown and Root for many years. He was a member of
Salem Lutheran Church in Port Lavaca.
Beyond his successful work life, he was also a painter, played guitar, mathematician, archeologist, built a helicopter from scratch, world traveler and was a reservist in the Air Force.
Survivors: son David Marek and his wife Susan of Stewartsville, NJ; daughter Heather Marek of Bremerton, WA; brother Norman Marek of Port Lavaca, TX; grandsons Sean and Justin. Nelson was predeceased by his brother Larry Marek.
