Nelsa Augusta Frelund

 

Nelsa Frelund was born December 12, 1929 in Denver CO to Bernhardt and Lillie Boldt.  She was educated at Emmaus Lutheran School and Gove Junior High School. She graduated from East High School in Denver CO in 1947.  After graduation she went to work for American Telephone and Telegraph as a billing clerk.  She returned to US West after her children were raised where she worked in the listings department.  After retirement she worked for many years as the volunteer receptionist in the Chaplain’s office at Swedish hospital.

Nelsa married Paul Frelund on May 24, 1951 in Denver.  They moved to Englewood CO in 1958.  Nelsa lived in the same house until her death. 

Nelsa was proud of her Masonic Heritage.  She was a member of Bethel # 4 Jobs Daughters as a teenager.  She was a 68 year member of Metro Chapter #157 Order of the Eastern Star and also a member of Denver Assembly #1 Social Order of the Beauceant.  Nelsa’s greatest love was for the Order of the Amaranth.  She was a 67 year member of Faith Court #18.  She served as Royal Matron 2 times at Park Hill Court and served as Grand Royal Matron in 1977-1978. 

Nelsa’s interests included Japanese Bunka Embroidery.  She made many beautiful pictures.  She also enjoyed reading and playing cards especially cribbage. 

Nelsa passed away on December 16, 2016 at Porter Hospice after complications from a fall on Thanksgiving Day. 

Nelsa was proceeded in death by her beloved husband Paul, her parents Bernhardt and Lillie Boldt, two brothers Richard Boldt of Aurora CO and Karl Boldt of Boise Idaho and a sister Marie Heller of Aurora CO.

Surviving Nelsa are her daughter Norma (Tom) Shafer of Centennial and her son David Frelund of Englewood and several nieces and nephews.  Also many personal, fraternal and professional friends.
