Nelmiah Joy Booker, affectionately known as Nina, was born to James Booker Jr and Melvina McGee-Booker on April 22, 1996.
Nelmiah accepted Christ, at a very early age and was devout studier of the word of God. She attended Governors State University, after graduating from Rich Central High School. She desired to become a Pediatric Rheumatologist and was an aspiring writer.
Nelmiah was licensed, as the Youth Pastor under the leadership of Pastor Ronald L Richardson in December 2011. Through God’s leading, her parents and she joined Denton Temple COGIC, under the leadership of Pastor Curly Washington. She continued her Religious studies, under the Mentorship of Evangelist Jerome Weatherspoon.
Nelmiah was highly favored and loved by all. She was affectionately known by many nicknames, such as Mama Doll, Big head, Star, Nia and Ne-Ne, but she preferred Nina, overall. She was a true Fashionista, whom loved to enhance beauty with makeup, hair coloring, and nail art.
Also, if there was a debate to be made, there was no question that Nelmiah was the one for the job. Although young in age, Nelmiah was a true inspiration and great example to all her peers, for she exemplified and carried great strength, as a mentor to others. Nelmiah was very creative in her thinking and was always determined to help those around her understand and gain a relationship with God.
Often times, people looked to her for guidance and instruction because of her knowledge, determination, Godly wisdom, and understanding. Nelmiah was what we would call an “Old Soul” and a true Angel from above. She will be dearly missed by all her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is now at peace with her Creator.
Nelmiah made her heavenly transition on July 8, 2019. Her strength, courage, and faith in God will be forever cherished by her parents, James Jr. and Melvina Booker. She is also survived by her siblings: Melvin (Kim); James (Claudine); Jasmine; and Lonja; Her nieces and nephews, Kimyah, Morgan, Saniyah, Cody, Jerrell, Marquies, Bryce, Xaiver, and Jaylen, along with her God Mother, Patricia, God sisters Rachonda and Renee, Uncle Robert, and a host of other uncles, aunts, and cousins.
