Mrs. Nellie Ruth (Sanford) McCarley, 92, of Cleveland, Tennessee, formerly of Lanett, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Tennova Hospital in Cleveland.
Mrs. McCarley is survived by her children, Alfred Eugene (Ann) McCarley of Tuscaloosa, Elbert Benson (Lily) McCarley of Fredonia, Dixie Anita (Edward) Dunnavant of Cleveland, Tennessee and David Earl (Margaret) McCarley of Prattville; one brother, David Sanford of Lanett, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Theodore McCarley, and her son, Aubry Lee McCarley.
Born March 3, 1924, in Sylacauga, Alabama, Mrs. McCarley was a member of Westmore Church of God in Cleveland. She had been a resident of Lanett for 68 years prior to her move to Cleveland in 2003.
