Nellie D. McCullough passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2014. Age 99, born Oct. 6, 1914, on the land that her grandparents homesteaded at the site of the former Officer’s Club, on Eglin Main. She grew up where the climatic hanger now resides and remained a lifetime resident of Valparaiso, FL. She was the beloved daughter of late Jeff and Addie Moore Davis and beloved wife to the late William Harold McCullough. She was a graduate of Niceville High School, class of 1933.
She was predeceased by daughter Betty Ward and sister/daughter Susie (Toobie) Ward from Niceville, and 2 grandsons Harold Ward and John Ward.
She is survived by daughter Barbara, her husband Tom from Pensacola, FL; Lucy Freytag from Wartburg, TN; Jackie Edge from Niceville, FL; her sister, Marylee Peters from Tampa, FL. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Tom, Joe, Steve, and Greg English, Karol Hindle, Jeff and April Ward, Casey Kennedy, Camilla (Gay) and Preston Freytag, Ray Edge, Dave and Scott Ward. She leaves to cherish memories 25 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
