Nell Varner Pitts, of Waynesboro, passed 10/19/2020 at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lula Varner, her brother Lyn Willie Varner and her beloved husband Gordon Pitts. Left to cherish her memory is her only child Jackie Nell Pitts Walker, Grandson Stephen Joseph Walker and Granddaughter Amber Walker Nguyen, three great grandchildren, her sister Freida Varner Pickett and her two brothers Jack Collins Varner and Wayne Watson Varner and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nell was a ‘social butterfly’ who loved people. She never met a stranger. She was known for her delicious Southern meals and mouth watering baked goods.
Nell will be deeply missed by many people including her friends at the Waynesboro Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where she was a devout member. Nell believed whole heartedly in John 5:28, 29 and her family and friends eagerly await that day.
