He graduated from Curtis High School in 1968. He served in the United States Air Force 02/1968 – 10/1971 in Germany and then continued to live in Germany for a time making many friends along the way.
Another passion of his was Italian food. He was a wonderful cook, especially pasta sauce, even though he was not Italian. He also enjoyed mysteries, true crime stories, educational documentaries, and the Seattle Mariners. He loved learning and philosophy all his life. He has no children, but loved his dogs; Kelsey, Alexa, Dakota, and Zephyr who brought joy.
He and his wife moved to Boise, Idaho in December of 2011 for her job and because he thought it would be a nice place to live. He was right. They loved exploring the area and meeting the wonderful people here.
They have been blessed by the support of friends and neighbors as well as family that have come during his illness. Especially our friend Eric Edwards who spent every afternoon for many weeks with Neil. We have also been blessed by the care of Dr. Zuckerman at St. Luke’s MSTI and Jennifer, Coleen, Anna, and Pat from St. Luke’s Hospice.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jean (Bartow) Engelhardt and brother Jay Bartow. He is survived by his wife JoAnn Campbell of Boise, Idaho, and his sister Joan (Bartow) Eadicicco of Lords Valley, PA. He is also survived by his nieces Lori (Eadicicco) Mantovi, Judy (Eadicicco) Zdanowicz, Beth (Eadicicco) Salter, Jeanne (Silvestri) Zucker, Lisa Engelhardt, Barbara (Bartow) Nebel, Carol (Bartow) Jensen, Donna Bartow and nephews John Eadicicco, Douglass Eadicicco, Salvatore (Chip) Eadicicco, Edward Eadicicco, Ken Silvestri, Brad Engelhardt, Scott Bartow, and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was a part of a large family that he loved as they loved him.
We will miss his stories, sense of humor and unique way of seeing the world.
