Miss Me – But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little–but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me–but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me–But Let me Go!

Neffetti Amber Shade, widely known as Neffie to most of us, graced us with her presence on April 17, 1993. Neffie was Bronx born but Harlem raised; she could b-ball like only a Harlem-ite could to prove it. After graduating Fredrick Douglas Academy High School, Neffie relocated to Bel Air, Maryland, where she joined the National Guard and began school at Hartford Community College.
Neffie is survived by her mother Deirdre Montgomery; Siblings: Patricia L. Montgomery, Stephanie N. Montgomery, Jamal S. Shade, Devin Shade, and Briana Shade; 5 aunts, 5 uncles; Nieces (aka her besties): Taliyah, Tamia, and her almost birthday twin Amelia; Nephew: Kobe; Grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Ford, and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends. Neffie is preceded in death by her father Steven Shade, and her grandmother Mary E. Montgomery.
