Neal Tobin Roundtree, 47, of Nampa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. He was born in Council, Idaho on March 18, 1971 to Perry Oliver and Ruth Conger Roundtree. Neal joined his older brothers Jeff and John, and his sister Linda. Neal attended Meadows Valley School and graduated in 1989 as President of Student Body, Captain of the basketball team as well as other notable school positions including being voted most likely to succeed. Neal spent a carefree childhood in New Meadows. Until the age of 14 when after school each day he started working at Meadow Creek Golf Resort until early in the morning, with little time for sleep; and helped to pay family bills. At his favorite haunts he spent time fishing in the Little Salmon River and hunting up Mud and Little Mud Creek. He was a good student and was selected to attend the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation in Washington, D.C.

Neal attended Treasure Valley Community College, working toward a law degree and transferred to North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene. He had many great memories from this time, including being on the golf team; but then came home early to help his mother to take care of his dying father. His employer covered his further schooling, where he received a Dietary Food Management Certificate from Boise State University. Neal Roundtree worked as the Executive Chef at several upper valley restaurants including the Shore Lodge in McCall and also Meadow Creek Golf Resort in Meadows Valley at the height of its’ recognition in fine dining.

On March 3rd, 1991 his daughter Taelor Carter was born. Neal married Heidi Cornia and they had two additional daughters, Abigail and Maisie. The couple later separated.

He is survived by his partner, fiancée and the love of his life, Alisha Manley of New Meadows, his three daughters: Taelor Carter, Abigail Roundtree and Maisie Roundtree, one brother: Jeff (Cindy) Roundtree of Cambridge, ID and one sister: Linda (Dan) Allred of Rigby, ID.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Ruth Roundtree, his brother John Roundtree, his Grandparents Ira and Glada Conger and Oliver and Faye Roundtree.

Neal’s greatest legacy in life was to bring joy to all he came in contact with, which excluded no one, not even the checker at the grocery store. He will be loved, missed, and remembered as he touched so many lives.
