Neal Richard Kunzman, 56, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, at University Of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City from complications of a stroke. Neal was born October 26, 1964, in Fairfield, IA, to Richard and Shirlene (Crew) Kunzman. He was a very proud alumni of Cardinal of Eldon High School and graduate of Truman State University. He married Kelly Willits on March 5, 2015 in New Orleans. Neal was a longtime manager at Earl May Garden Centers and most recently worked at Bomgaars in Grimes.
Neal was an interim member of the Dallas Center City Council. He will be remembered for always having his garage door open with an open seat and the coldest beer in town. Neal was an avid bowler and he and Kelly had been bowling with Ann and Ernie Davenport for the past five years. He offered a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Neal is survived by his wife, Kelly, his children Karly (Dyllan Rosenbaum) Kunzman of Dallas Center and Collin (Kendal) Kunzman of Stuart; his step children Brandon (Erin) McNace of Dallas Center, Amber (Steven “Pete”) McFarland of Greenfield, IA, and Savannah Vidergar of Dallas Center; his grandchildren, Henry, Hudson, and Crew McNace with two more on the way; and his sister, Sherri (Tim) Barbic of Sarasota, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard.
