Neal J. Dechter, of Mt. Laurel, formerly of Burlington Township, passed away at Marcella Center in Burlington Township on Tuesday March 4, 2014, at the age of 78. He was born in Philadelphia and graduated with a BA from Temple University. He served his country honorably in the US Army and then began his working career. He was the former owner of The Holly House Luncheonette in Mt. Holly. He then went on to work for and retire from Drexel Food Group of Philadelphia. He was raised to the Master Mason Degree in 1966 (Mizpah Lodge 191) and is a 50 – year anniversary Mason.
He enjoyed going to Florida and playing cards with the guys. Husband of the late Claire Dechter (nee:Painter) he is survived by his children: Mark (Pamela) Roberts, Kristina Travaglione, Karen Rancani; grandchildren: Lauren (Daniel) Ficca, Christy Roberts, Jonathan Roberts, Jennifer Travaglione, Julia Travaglione, Matthew Travaglione, Nicholas Rancani, Alexa Rancani, Michael Rancani; great-grandson Ryan Ficca; brother Murray (Lillian) Dechter, loving companion Rosalie Loughridge, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
