Navinia V. Baker (Nevi) of Florence, passed away at home Wednesday August 25, 2021 at the age of 89. Born in Philadelphia, Nevi resided in Philadelphia and Hamilton Twp., before moving to Florence, N.J. She was employed as an administrative secretary for the State of New Jersey. Nevi graduated from the est. Training and the Communication Workshop Series.

She worked in the governor’s office for the Fisheries Development Commission in Trenton. She was also a licensed real estate agent in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania and was a rental agent for the Korman Corporation in Philadelphia and Bucks County. She served as a board member for the Florence Tollgate Condo Association. Nevi enjoyed singing, painting and was an avid reader with a curious and active mind. She referred to herself as an amateur history buff and studied astrology and genealogy.

She sang and performed as an extra in the Boheme Opera Company in Trenton and had a passion for baking. She was also very active in the Ladle of Love Soup Kitchen at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Burlington. She was a quilter who belonged to the Berry Basket Quilters and was a member of Quilts for Comfort Quilting Group at St. Mary’s Church in Burlington. Nevi was predeceased by her brother Donald and sister Caroline. She is survived by her children; Skip Baker, Jan Baker (Roselinda) and Scott Baker (Diane), her grandchildren; Jacqueline, Scott, Jr., Kyle and Marky and great grandson Scott L. Baker, III. She is also survived by nieces Tracey, Lori, Terri, Jamie, Ada and Jill.
