Nathaniel “Scott” Larson of Schererville, IN age 44, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019.
Scott is survived by his loving mother, Valarie; nephews, Jacob and Brad; niece, Katie; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Shawn.
Scott was a graduate of Munster High School. He was a local musician. Though his name was Nathaniel, everyone knew him as Scott.
Throughout his life he was a devoted son, an amazing friend to everyone who was lucky enough to cross his path, and an immensely talented singer songwriter.
Music was Scott’s passion and the gift he gave to the world. His words were powerful and heartfelt, as was the voice that carried them. The Northwest Indiana music scene is forever in his debt. Between his countless bands and his long-standing open mic nights at Shannon’s Landing and Finnegan’s Pub; a community of open minded, loving musicians and music appreciators were able to find each other and a sense of home.
His words and music will live on in the hearts, and on the lips, of every single person who saw him do what he loved. His positivity, disarming sense of humor, and endearing smile brought out the best of everyone around him. So many lives were touched and forever changed by his genuine kindness.
He now gets to rest easy and join his beloved brother Shawn on the other side. Though he took so little, he always gave a lot.
