Mr. Nathaniel Ellis Bolds, Sr., 71 of 1733 Stoneybrook Drive, and formally of 1008 Centennial St. departed this live on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at High Point Regional Hospital.
He is the son of Solomon and Marie Brown Bolds. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Solomon Bolds, Jr. and William Bolds; and one sister, Cecilia Cooper Mr. Bolds (Nat) was born in White Hall, S.C., April 14, 1940. He attended the local schools, and graduated from Colleton High School in 1958. Mr. Bolds continued his education at South Carolina State College, where he received a B.S. Degree in Industrial Arts in 1963. He was employed by High Point City Schools at William Penn High School. In 1968 he left William Penn High School to work at T. W. Andrews High School where he worked until his retirement in 1998.
Mr. Bolds was an avid outdoorsman who spent any free time he had fishing and hunting. He also served on the Planning and Zoning Commission for seven years and the Boys and Girls Club of High Point. He was a member of the Red Raider Booster Club, North Carolina Association of Educators, High Point Jaycees and NAACP. Mr. Bolds was an active member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of Trustees, member of the Finance Committee, M. H. Bass Sunday School Class and sang on the Male Chorus.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife of forty-six years, Margaret G. Bolds of the home; two daughters, Lisa Bolds of High Point, Lori Bolds of Greensboro; one son, Nathaniel Ellis Bolds, Jr. (Julie) of Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren Kelsea, Noelle, and Nathaniel Bolds, III.; five sisters, Gloria Nix of Bronx, N. Y. , Rose Marie Ruger of Orlando, FL, Irene Moultrie of Columbia, S.C., Sarah Bodison and Diannia Grant of Green Pond, S.C.; sister-in-law, Zenobia Bolds; one uncle and one aunt, Roscoe and Josephine Bradley of NY as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
