Mr. Nathaniel Abdus-Salam, of Tampa, Florida, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021.

Mr. Salam was a native and life-long resident of Tampa for 78 years.  He was employed by Kirby Vacuum and Tampa Tribune as a salesman. 

Mr. Salam is preceded in death by his father, Julius Atkinson, his mother, Genevieve Simms and a brother, William “Bucky” Simms.

Leaving to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 31 years, Norma; his children: Nathaniel “Sonny” Simms, Rachael Simms-Thompkins (Kim), Avery Simms, as well as “loving bonus” children: Adrian Judge and DeAndra Judge; his sister, Vernice Diggs (Tony); brother, Percy Simms (Darlene); cherished grandchildren: Kimberly Batton (Brandon) and Avery Thompkins; beloved aunt, Carmen Washington; nieces and nephews: Tracy Short-Lewis, William “Tony” Simms (Sophia), Shaheedra Johnson (Keesian), Saivon and Ziann Johnson, Khalil and Khalia Bradley, Michael Simms, Nikita Simms, Marcus President and Jonika Simms, and a host of cousins and friends; best friend, Harvey Smith.
