Nathan Thomas, January 3, 1952 – March 27, 2011, Resident of Oakland California. After a courageous battle with cancer, Nathan passed away peacefully at his son’s home in Oakland, California. Nathan was born in Ville Platte, La., raised in Beaumont, Texas and graduated from Beaumont High School in 1970. Nathan then moved from Beaumont, Tx. and relocated to San Francisco, Ca. in 1971. He held a culinary credential from San Francisco City College and was a chef and respected union steward at the Bohemian Club of San Francisco for 38 years.

He was one of 15 children born to the late Frank and Mary Thomas. Nathan will forever be remembered by his devoted living brothers Walter, Lawrence, Frank, LeRogers, Leroy, Gerald and loving sisters Usley Ardoin, Mercedes Bennett, Geneva Mayfield and Edith Hadden. Nathan also had 5 additional siblings who are no longer living (Wallace Thomas, Easley Williams, Gloria Warner, Mary Frank and step-brother Daniel Thomas). Nathan is survived by his beloved children Edward Thomas and Monique Jordan and a total of 40 nieces and nephews along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Nathan loved sports especially the SF Giants, Golden State Warriors and Dallas Cowboys, murder mysteries, laughing, telling jokes, being with his family, having fun with friends and especially creating and cooking gourmet meals.

Nathan touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
