Nathan Stanley Oliver, age 44, of Bulverde-Spring Branch, Texas, was suddenly taken to the Lord on October 6, 2020, while working at a job site pursuing his home building occupation.
Nathan was born December 24, 1975 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jeffrey and Marilyn Oliver. He lived his early years in Hewitt, Texas and graduated from Midway High School. He was a member of The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band, class of ‘98 and graduated with a Construction Science degree from Texas A&M. Nathan went to work for Drees Custom Homes in the North Dallas and Austin regions as a Builder. In 2008 he joined two of his brothers to form Hillscape Custom Homes in Boerne. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church-Honey Creek and the Knights of Columbus, he made himself available for church projects and especially property restorations.
Nathan loved collecting and researching antique residential fixtures and accessories, clocks, family memorabilia, A&M items, and especially religious icons. Truly devoted to his homebuilding work, he was always highly respected for the quality of his work and the attention he paid to his customer’s wishes. Youth ministry and teaching Catholic Faith Formation at St. Joseph was a true devotion. He was always a helpful person to his family, friends, trade workers, homeowners, and youth ministry. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but perhaps mostly being with his nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Nathan is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Marilyn Oliver; his three brothers, Landon (Cheryl), Eric (Reneé), and Darin (Janicea); his grandmother, Elizabeth Oliver; and ten nieces and nephews, plus numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Adron Oliver, and his grandparents Theodore and Rose Hons.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Memorial Hermann Kidney Transplant Center as he was a nineteen year transplant survivor; also, to his friends and students within the St. Joseph Faith Formation program which he truly felt close; to his skilled trades who worked so close and successfully with him; and to his friends and family who loved and admired his dedication to whatever he dealt with. We sincerely thank you for celebrating with us the life of Nathan.
