Nathan Martin of Jackson, Alabama, better known as “Nate” to family and friends, traded time for eternity January 31, 2019, at his residence, surrounded by his family. Born March 26, 1965, to Lenzy Sr., and Lottie Bell Williams Martin, he was 53 years-of-age. Nate moved to Detroit, Michigan, when he was very young and attended Detroit Public Schools. Later in life, he returned to Jackson, where he remained until his demise.
Nate loved people and would help anyone; he enjoyed being around family and friends, and his favorite pastime was fishing.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Saul Martin, Nathanial Martin, Carlie Martin, Lenzy Martin, Jr., and James Johnson; and sisters, Joann Foxx, Emma Mae Craig, Alvestine Gamble, and Ruby Carter.
Left to cherish his memories are: his wife, Linda Faye Worthy Martin of Jackson; son, Darnell Lovely of Huntsville, AL., daughters, Phylicia Lovely (Christopher) Williams of Memphis, TN., and Elektra (Gregory) Gaines of Waynesboro, MS., five grandchildren; six stepchildren, Aaron Worthy, Adrian Worthy, Ray Worthy, Dynita (Jamarcus) Sampson, Lashandra Worthy, and Tyquitha Worthy, all of Jackson, AL., seven step-grandchildren; three brothers, John (Barbara) Smith and Woodrow Smith, both of Detroit, MI., and Samuel (Stella) Smith of Clio; seven sisters, Loretta Robinson of Robinsonville, MS., Pauline Smith of Austell, GA., Mary (Roscoe) Marzett of Saraland, Lillie (Roosevelt) Samuel of Mobile, AL., Valeria (Keith) Henderson, Detroit, MI., Catherine (Richard) Jackson of Jackson,AL., and Pearlie Mae Hunt of Fairhope, AL., two aunts, Dorothy Watson and Louise Bracy both of Jackson, AL., and sister-in-law, Perry Lee Martin of Jackson, AL., seven brothers-in-law and four-sisters-in-law; devoted friend, Clarence Gamble; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
