Plainfield – Natanael Mendez, 44, of Cornell Road passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT.
He was born February 22, 1977 in the US Virgin Islands, son to Herminio and Abinel (Colon) Melendez of Plainfield, CT.
Natanael was employed most recently at Frito Lay, but before then he was always employed as a cook in local restaurants. He was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan. He was a loving, caring father and grandfather, who was truly dedicated to his family. He was a great influence on his nieces and nephews. He was a loving dedicated husband. Natanael was a kindhearted, empathetic, generous man who would help all those in need. He was always witty and sarcastic. He will live on through his children.
Besides his parents he is survived by his wife Margaret Johansen, his children Natanael Mendez, Jr., Vanessa V. Mendez, Alex, Jordan and Thomas Johansen, his siblings Iris Mendez (Louis Condeno), Neftali Mendez, Joey Melendez (Danielle Pawleski), Gabriel Melendez (Denise Hernandez), Jeremias Melendez (Katrisha Melendez) and Abigail Melendez, numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren, uncles, aunts, grandmother and loyal friends.
He was predeceased by his sisters Rosa Mendez and Vanessa Perry.
