Natalie E. Fournier
Uncasville – Natalie Ethel Fournier, 90, of Woodland Dr., died Saturday, November 15,2014 at the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich.
She was born in Norwich on December 21, 1923 daughter of the late Amos Billings and Jennie (Browning) Wheeler. Natalie graduated from the Norwich Free Academy Class of 1941. In 1954 she was united in marriage to Leo Wells Fournier. Mr. Fournier died on January 23, 2007. Natalie was a devoted wife, mother and care-taker and after 22 years as a full time at-home-mother she returned to work when her children left home and worked as an administrative assistant to the Director of Department of Transportation. Natalie always made herself available to others all her life and will be deeply missed by those who were blessed to have known her.
Mrs. Fournier is survived by two sons, James A. Fournier of Longview, WA and Jonathan “Jon” W. Fournier of Norwich, a daughter, Melissa A. Fournier of Stow, MA, a sister-in-law, Barbara Wheeler of Uncasville and a special caregiver, Annie Pokumensah, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
