St. Martinville-Narriman “Petesie” Fakier, 68, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Petesie was a giving person who cared for others before herself. Her love for others didn’t just extended to people; she loved all animals as well, and was an advocate for animal rights. She would rescue any animal that needed help and would nurse them to health and make sure they were adopted into a good family
Petesie is survived by her brother, Norman Fakier, Jr. (Brenda); sister, Charlotte Pipes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Fakier, Sr. and the former Dorothy Luke; and a sister, Constance Granger.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Lafayette General Medical Center and Dr. Gary Guidry for the care they provided to Petesie.
