Naomi S. Mindlin, 73, of Langhorne, died Monday, August 22, 2022 in Penn Medicine Rittenhouse. She celebrated 37 years of marriage with her husband, Stephen Perloff, on February 24, 2022. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Lillian (Schwalb) Mindlin. A 1966 graduate of Liberty High School and a 1970 graduate of Brandeis University, Naomi received her Masters from New York University. Naomi lived for dance and family. She was a member of the José Limón Dance Company as well as other dance and choreography projects. She taught dance at University of the Arts in Philadelphia and later taught children’s creative dance classes. A freelance copy editor for Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group and Ballet Review and Dance Chronicle, Naomi was also the editor of The Vision of Modern Dance for the Princeton Book Company and Doris Humphrey: A Centennial Issue for Choreography and Dance. She was a co-founder of Reconstructionist synagogue Tzedek v’Shalom in Newtown, PA. Many were blessed with her various knitting, felting, sewing, and baking projects.
Survivors: Husband; daughters, Cressa Perloff and spouse Natalie Zilka of Oregon and Emma Perloff and spouse Joel Rice of Philadelphia; brother, Nevin Mindlin and beloved partner Jean Cutler of Ft. Myers, FL; granddog, Molly; grandcat, Bridget.
