Naomi M. Cox, 83, of rural Virginia, IL died Saturday, December 5, 2015, at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield, IL.

She was born February 14, 1932 in Cass County, the daughter of Erick W. Sr. and Edith Oetgen Krieg. She married James W. Cox on November 19, 1950, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2002.

She is survived by a son, Darrell Cox (wife, Barb) of Virginia; a grandson, Justin Paul Cox of Springfield; two step grandsons, Ken Wilson (wife, Heather) of Pullman, WA and Greg Wilson (wife, Nancy) of Dunlap; three step great grandchildren, Tyler, Baylie, and Nicole Wilson; three siblings, Ruth Saylor of New Berlin, Erick Krieg Jr. (wife, Donna Lou) of Jacksonville, and Carolyn Fouts of Macomb; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Butch, Mindi, Clark, Connor, Maureen, and Molly Armstrong and Tom and Tammy Osmer, all of Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Alberta Smith, William Krieg, and Chester Krieg (surviving wife, Charlotte of Virginia).

Naomi was a Virginia High School graduate and a devoted farm wife and homemaker. She was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as secretary for the Presbyterian Service Guild and Treasurer for the MITE program. She was a long time board member and treasurer for the Garner Chapel Cemetery Association.
