DURHAM- Mrs. Naomi Grace McGhee Storey, 94, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 8, 2020 at her home.
Mrs. Storey was born October 24, 1925 to the late Charlie and Esther McGhee in Durham, NC. She retired from American Tobacco Company after 42 years. Mrs. Storey was an active member of Angier Avenue Baptist Church.
Mrs. Storey, known to most as “Grace,” was an excellent cook for both her family and church community. She was always a warm and inviting host to whomever she met. Her seriousness was balanced with a joyful wit. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Storey is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Herman Storey; parents, Charlie and Esther McGhee; brothers, Carl McGhee, Earl McGhee, Frank McGhee, Arthur McGhee, Charles McGhee, Johnny McGhee, Larry McGhee and Don McGhee; sisters, Louise Ellis, Belle Hall, and Mary Wrenn; and son-in-law, Wayne Williams.
Mrs. Storey is survived by her daughters, Brenda S. Williams and Christina S. Medley and her husband Matt Medley; grandchildren, Amy and Jay St. Amant, Stephanie and Taylor Ellis, and Samantha Lewis and fiancée, Sean Moreno; great-grandchildren, Zachary St. Amant and Sabine St. Amant.
