Nanetta Appetito (nee Whoolery), age 78 of Brooklyn Park, MD, died on June 14, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her two sons, John Cheek and Clyde Cheek, four grandchildren, Claire Cheek, David Cheek, Timothy Cheek, Anita Cheek, and one great-grandson, Aiden Hill. She was pre-deceased by her husband, John F. Appetito and her parents, Clarence and Violet Whoolery. Born in Waynesburg, PA she moved to Baltimore with her family when she was a teenager. She enjoyed watching her sons play sports for Brookly Park youth programs and Brooklyn Park High School and was known in that circle as “Mrs. Cheek”. Nan worked for the MVA as a Driving Records Supervisor and retired after over 30 years of service.
