Nancy A. Verch, 80, of Bloomington passed away April 3, 2011 at Garden Villa nursing home.

She was born on May 13, 1930 in Chicago, IL and was the daughter of Clifford and Gertrude Cederlund. She was married to Edward E. Verch of Chicago, IL for 25 years. Nancy was an excellent administrative assistant at E.R. Moore in Des Plaines, IL, Oakton Community College in Des Plaines,IL, and until retirement at Bayfront Medical Center, St. Petersburg, FL. Nancy loved to walk on the beach in Florida and lived there for 20 years, fulfilling a life-long dream. Clowns and butterflies brought her joy. Nancy enjoyed learning new and unfamiliar things. She was introduced to computers in the early eighties while taking courses at Oakton Community College, and subsequently became the first in the family to own a p.c. She was a very creative person who loved colors and textures. She expressed her creativity in embroidering, cross-stitching, knitting, crocheting, sewing clothing, and making beautiful quilts. She generously gifted these creations to those she loved. She moved to Bloomington in 2005 to be near family and was a member of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.

Survivors include her two children: her son, Neal Verch and daughter, Gail Pontius (Brad) of Bloomington; and three grandchildren, Claire (John) Roth of Bloomington, Joel (Laura) Pontius of Laramie, WY, and Jesse Pontius of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bernard Cederlund.
