Our Loving daughter, sister, mother and friend, Nancy V. Lyday, was suddenly called home on September 8, 2022, of an unexpected medical condition.
She was born on March 6, 1963, in Ogden, a daughter of James Clark VanderSteen and DeAnna VanderSteen Hatch. She attended Taylor Elementary and graduated from Ogden High School.
Nancy enjoyed serving others in many aspects of her life, both in the community and in her church. She dedicated a majority of her life volunteering for Davis County Search and Rescue and Follow the Flag.
She faithfully served in a variety of callings in the Rushton Heights Ward in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The pride and joy of her life was spent raising and loving her son Nathan James Lyday. She was an avid soccer mom and loved to take Nate to movies. One of her proudest days was when Nathan became a Peace Officer for Ogden City Police Department.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was a grandmother to many. She enjoyed camping, nature, photography, cooking, and spoiling the people that she loved.
She is survived by her mother DeAnna (Bert) Hatch, sister Connie (Tory) Mesmer, daughter-in-law Ashley Lyday, her cherished nieces and nephews, and many stepbrothers and sisters. She is proceeded in death by her father James and beloved son Nathan.
