Nancy (Kittredge) Sikkema, 69, of Pine Beach, NJ passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, August 12, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Carlstadt and raised in Hasbrouck Heights, Nancy lived in Clifton before moving to West Point Island, Lavallette and then Pine Beach, NJ. Nancy worked at Hoffmann-LaRoche in Nutley, and as a meeting planner for Mutual of New York before she moved to Lavallette. Her wonderful personality and great people skills provided a second successful career at Value City Furniture in Lakewood, NJ.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Ronald J. Sikkema; her stepchildren Taryn Sickel of Brick and her husband Robert, Kevin Kennedy of Toms River and his wife Christine; her brother Bill Kittredge of Millsboro, DE, and stepbrother Greg Canon and his wife Laura of Toms River; sister-in-law Debra Sikkema of Pelican Island; and three grandchildren Mattix and Brody Sickel, and Jack Kennedy. She’s also survived by her nieces and nephews, and her most beloved pet Elli.
Above all Nancy was a devoted and loving nana to Mattix, Brody and Jack. They were the light of her life. She was a loyal friend and a kind and warm person who touched everyone who knew her. She loved her many pets, living at the Jersey Shore, and the beach was her happy place.
Those who knew Nancy know she would rather give than receive. In lieu of funeral services, and to honor Nancy’s wishes, we ask that all who want to participate make a donation to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or to Wounded Warriors.
